Greensboro Montessori offers Full Time Summer Program

The Greensboro Montessori School recognizes that busy parents need a school where their child can thrive and which provides a safe nurturing environment. They offer care from 7:30am – 6pm, and a summer program connecting the last day of school to the first. Open House Tours: February 21 and 28 at 9am.

In multi-age classrooms, partnerships are created between parents and teachers guiding the child’s educational journey from toddlers through eighth grade. GMS graduates currently attend area high schools including The Early College at Guilford, The STEM program at NC A&T University, The International Baccalaureate programs at Grimsley and Page, Weaver Academy for the Arts, and other public and private high schools.

Google Founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page say in Montessori they were “being self-motivated, questioning what’s going on in the world, doing things a little bit differently,” and they attribute their success to that way of learning.

Summit School Hosts Inspired Learning Series: Resilience

Summit School will host another Inspiring Learning event on Tuesday, February 11 at 7 pm.  These popular educational talks for parents are free and open to the public. This year Summit’s topic is RESILIENCE: the ability to become strong, healthy or successful after something bad happens. Parents today can find themselves feeling anxious and fearful about “bad” things happening to their children. In truth, those events can be the building blocks for resilience.

Please come Tuesday to hear more about these ideas related to building resilience in our children: Role of anxiety, Coping skills, How to fail successfully, Role of observation, Role of modeling, Slowing down/exiting the “Race To Nowhere”, Simplicity parenting, Building healthy boundaries, and Slowing down fast paced lives. More information available here.

New Giveaway from Ruff Housing!

Win a $250 gift certificate to be used for doy daycare, lodging, grooming or training at any of Ruff Housing’s four locations: 336 Witt St., Winston-Salem, 5648 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, 15 Battleground Court, Greensboro, or 3511 Lawrence St., Clemmons (grooming only)!

Ruff Housing’s daycare provides fun, safe and fully supervised indoor and outdor spaces for your dog to make friends, expend energy through group play and rest when necessary. For dogs who aren’t as social, a Private Retreat option provides one-on-one playtimes and walks with an attendant.  Early drop-offs and late pickups are available, and webcams inside and out allow owners to watch their dogs have fun.
