Summer Splash at Ruff Housing
School’s out, the kids are home and the daily routine is slowing down. If you’ve considered adopting a dog, now may be a great time to help a new pet settle in and become comfortable with his new surroundings. Whether you are looking for a dog or already have one, don’t miss Ruff Housing’s Summer Splash, an adoption fair, on Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 15 Battleground Court in Greensboro. Guests can celebrate the start of summer with fellow dog-lovers, and check out their dog pool! Rescue groups and animal shelters will have dogs in need of homes. Local food trucks will serve up tasty fare, and leashed dogs are welcome with proof of rabies vaccination. Local Farmer’s Markets are in full swing! If you are not a regular market shopper, be sure to put this on your “To Do” list this summer. Shopping at local farmer’s markets financially benefits the farmer and the community. It allows the farmer to profit, which in turn reduces the likelihood that he will have to sell his land for development. Many loyal market shoppers will also claim that they find the food healthier and better tasting.
