Parents Night Out at Kaleideum North
Need a break from the kids? Enjoy a summer date night while the kids have fun at Kaleideum North. They will eat pizza for dinner, explore and play in the Museum, and watch an age-appropriate movie. Also that evening, kids will stretch their imaginations and engineering skills as they transform recycled materials into props, scenery, puppets, and more! Kaleideum’s Creative Making & Learning Manager will bring tools and materials from The Prop Shop, the theatre-themed maker space at Kaleideum Downtown, to Kaleideum North for big building adventures!
Pre-registration for Parents Night Out is required no later than July 21 at 7 pm. (No walk-ins please.) Member registration is $20 for first child and $15 per each additional sibling. Non-members registration is $25 per first child and $20 per each additional sibling.

Delicious Fun at Black Mountain Chocolate
Where can you find delicious fun for both mom and kids? At Winston’s chocolate factory, of course! At Black Mountain Chocolate, the little Factory has big glass windows, with a series of interesting displays to explain how the cacao fruit becomes chocolate. The roaster looks like Thomas the Tank Engine, and kids love the chocolate fountain that molds the bars. On any visit, you might see roasting, winnowing, grinding, tempering or hand-wrapping. Self-guided tours are available any time the Factory is open. Best of all, there are always free samples available!
In BMC’s Kitchen, the pastry chef turns the chocolate into a delicious array of treats. You’ll find brownies, cookies and tarts, plus chocolate-covered bonbons and gelato. BMC features a full espresso and tea bar. There’s just the right nibble for every member of the family! Check out the reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor.
