Ace Hardware might have just gotten much closer to your neighborhood!  Two local families have brought two new Ace Hardware stores to our area and we could not be more excited to shop local.  Locally owned, but nationally known, this is the place that men and women alike are going to LOVE!  (Don’t worry moms – I’ll get to the exciting part for you as you read a little further!)

Recently, the first store opened at the Village at North Elm (Pisgah Church Road and Elm Street) in Greensboro, and as of the week of April 18th, there will be a second store opening at Cloverdale Plaza (Cloverdale and Miller Street) in Winston-Salem!  Yes, Cloverdale Plaza … perfect for anyone who lives anywhere near the hospitals and does not want to fight Hanes Mall traffic to pick up hardware supplies!

You know how you meet people and just think, “Wow, these are just good people?”  That is exactly how I felt when I met two of the owners, Betsy & Doug Brown, almost five years ago.  The Browns are an extraordinary family who are not only friendly and generous in their personal lives, but will do their best to make their customers happy in their new business as well.  Whether the customer is a professional builder, a handyman, or a shopper who is taking on a Do-It-Yourself project for the first time, the stores’ employees will offer one-on-one expert advice and assistance.

Ace Hardware is recognized across America as the “helpful place” and is the winner of the J.D Power and Associates award for customer service for four years running.  Just in time for spring, Ace Hardware provides solutions to a wide range of everyday home improvement needs through an extensive selection of products in categories such as paint and lawn and garden. In addition, Ace Hardware features a wide selection nationally respected brands such as Benjamin Moore Paints, Husquavarna outdoor power equipment, Weber Grills and Craftsman Tools.

Alright moms, I told you there were more exciting things for you coming up.  First off, you may already be a “handywoman” or a DIY-er, so it is obvious that Ace will quickly be a frequent stop on your errand list.  In addition, to win the hearts of our shoppers out there, Betsy has an adorable boutique inside the doors of both locations!   You will be able to find unique gift items from ACC licensed products, kitchenware, picnic accessories, jewelry, candles, dishware, clothing, and more at this Bee’s Nest boutique!  You can view some of the products available on the facebook page here.  Plus the winner of our Mother of the Year contest will win a $30 gift card to the Bee’s Nest!  (And a little birdie told me that our readers may have a chance to win a gift card from here within the next few weeks as well!!)

One more bonus – the Cloverdale location in W-S will include a U.S. Post Office inside!  Imagine it … you can pick up painting supplies, shop for a gift for your neighbor, and mail your niece’s birthday present all in one stop!  We encourage you to stop by the Greensboro location any time, and mark your calendars for the Winston location opening the week of April 18, 2011!  In addition, there will be a Grand Opening Event the weekend of May 13-15, 2011 in Winston-Salem with hot deals and live radio remotes from various radio stations.  We hope to see you there!
