Some of life’s great frustrations: Sock seams that don’t line up. Not being able to find a pen. People who use the last of the toilet paper and don’t replace the roll. Going through the McDonald’s drive-thru at 10:37 in the morning and wanting an Egg McMuffin, and hearing they’re no longer serving breakfast. All potential day ruiners.

But now, I have one less catastrophic event to worry about! McDonald’s has just announced that the Triad is one of two markets in the country where the full breakfast menu is offered All. Day. Long. They’ve been offering a limited all day breakfast menu for a while, but now it’s expanded to include all items, even my beloved Egg McMuffin.

mcd3This is also great news for families who love breakfast for dinner! If I’m in a dinner crunch, there is nothing that my kids agree to more readily. My teenager loves a Bacon, Egg & Cheese McGriddle, my health nut child will have the Fruit & Maple Oatmeal with a Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfait, and my little guy will destroy a plate of Hot Cakes with Sausage. With an Egg McMuffin (or two) for myself and a to-go Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Biscuit for my husband, I have a dinner for five that everyone loves. With a whopping seventeen items on the expanded breakfast menu, there’s plenty to choose from should someone want to mix things up. Maybe I’ll get crazy and order Hash Browns with my Egg McMuffin – you never know!

Our Sunday morning tradition is church followed by ‘breakfast’ at home. But we don’t get home until after 11, and by the time I get everything made ‘breakfast’ has turned into ‘lunch’. Not to mention the pile of dishes I have to clean up. Now that McDonald’s has expanded the All Day Breakfast to include the full menu, I’m going to make it a new tradition. No hour spent as a short order cook, no cries of “I’M STARVING”, and no dishes. That’s my kind of Sunday.

Next time you get a craving for a Sausage Burrito or some Sausage Gravy & Biscuits, head over to McDonald’s and check out the FULL breakfast menu. Don’t bother checking the clock, because it will mcd4be there All Day!
