Camp Chillin 0515Camp Chillin’ at the Greensboro Ice House

The Greensboro Ice House is pleased to host summer day camp for children ages five and up.  Camp Chillin’ is the coolest camp in town with figure skating and hockey tracks for beginners and advanced skaters. Camp Chillin’ offers full and half day options with drop off as early as 7:30am and pick-up as late as 6pm.  Campers will enjoy a daily skating lesson, on and off-ice games, crafts and movies!  Campers may pack or order lunch.  US Figure Skating Basic Skills Learn to Skate classes begin Tuesday, May 10th and Saturday, May 14th.  Professional coaches teach skating FUNdamentals to figure and hockey skaters ages 4 years and up.  Adults welcomed and encouraged to participate!   The Greensboro Ice House boasts an array of skating opportunities including daily public sessions, extended weekend public skating, awesome birthday parties and discounts for your group’s next outing.  Check out all of our programming at www.greensboroice.com.

In celebration of Earth Day weekend, the Reynolda House is hosting Ansel Adams Community Day on Saturday, April 23rd from 12-4 p.m. Admission is free and registration is suggested. Celebrate Earth Day with art activities, live music, food vendors, and a public art installation (made entirely of water bottles) inspired by Ansel Adams’s lifelong commitment to environmental conservation. Come out on Saturday, April 30th for Pregnant In The Piedmont, Winston-Salem’s pregnancy, baby and parenting expo!  Hosted by Piedmont Doulas, this event takes place from 10 am to 2 pm in the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Conference Center, located at 3333 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.  Pregnant In The Piedmont showcases the many businesses and resources that are available to growing families in the Piedmont Triad, including obstetricians and midwives, massage therapists, doulas, pediatric dentists, nanny agencies, pediatricians, yoga studios and more. Facebook Cover Proud Exhibitor People2016 Piedmont Earth Day Fair Promises Fun for Kids of All Ages

Piedmont Environmental Alliance (PEA) expects a record crowd at the 11th annual Piedmont Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 23. This family-friendly event is free to the public and offers interactive children’s activities, live entertainment, environmental demonstrations, environmental debate, and more than 100 earth-friendly exhibitors. The fair will be held rain or shine at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year, the fair celebrates sustainable food systems with the theme “Eat. Drink. Think.” Program Partners including Art for Art’s Sake, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, SciWorks, and dozens of other exhibitors will offer creative activities that will allow kids of all ages to create seedling cups, build vegetable sculptures, create origami and art from recycled products, have their face painted and much more, all while collecting stamps for each activity to win prizes. Kids can pick up their Eco-Activity Stamp Card at the PEA booth.

 

AladdinJrFlierThe Piedmont School Proudly Announces Aladdin Jr.

On Thursday April 21st, the students of The Piedmont School will perform in their annual spring musical. This year the students will be performing Aladdin Jr. This event is free and open to the community. Before the performance The Piedmont School’s PTO will be hosting a silent auction with some wonderful items up for bidding such as DisneyWorld tickets, mountain getaways, ski passes, Panthers memorabilia, and gift certificates for local restaurants and activities. The performance will be held at St. Mary’s Community Life Center at 108 West Farriss Ave. in High Point. Show time is 6:30pm and will last about an hour. Silent auction begins at 5pm, make sure to come see all the great items up for bidding!
