With June and the end of school less than a month away, most parents are still looking for the perfect summer camps for their children to learn, grow and thrive while also having a great time! Then look no further than summer camp at the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina.

Whether your child is looking to make new friends, improve sports skills, learn to shoot a bow and arrow or just have a great time, the Y has the answer. Each and every camp centers on our five character development traits of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. We also combine fun and adventure with age-appropriate, camper-centered programs, which incorporate new skills and group activities, all in a safe environment.

Our traditional day camp is designed for children who have completed K-5th grade and are looking for a week-long experience. Kids will not only learn but be thoroughly entertained with our weekly themes, including full of character, grossology, holiday, outdoor adventure, wet/wild/wacky, pirates and princesses, Hawaiian celebration, game show, circus and best of the best. Our traditional day camp runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Prices for day camp start at $115. If your child is a rising 1st-5th grader, a half day enrichment camp can also be paired with either a morning or afternoon day camp.

Our teen day camps are designed to challenge teens through character development and team building . Weekly activities include sports, games, arts and crafts, swimming, and community service projects. Rising 6th-9th graders will also enjoy the field trips to Tanglewood, Emerald Point, local museums, and many more attractions. Our teen camp runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and prices start at $130.

Even the littlest children have a summer camp to call their own at the Y with our Preschool Camp. Children ages 3-5 will enjoy a half day camp that will introduce them to a structured camp environment and allow them to experience new things, make friends and be themselves in a safe and secure setting. This camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to Noon, Monday through Friday. Prices start at $90.

Children looking to perfect their sports skills or pick up a new hobby will benefit from our sports and specialty camps. Children of all ages can participate in our soccer, baseball, tennis, basketball, flag football, volleyball, cheer, all-sports and lacrosse half day camps. They can also pick up a new skill with our cooking, photography, martial arts, science, art and dance camps. Programs, prices and times vary by branch.

What would be summer camp at the Y without Camp Hanes! Camp Hanes offers parents both a residential and day camp option to meet your child’s needs. Residential campers will enjoy the new air-conditioned cabins but everyone will participate in activities like canoeing, swimming, lake slide, water zip line, archery and nature fun. Overnight residential camp runs Sunday to Friday for $679 and Monday to Friday day camp is $196 (including transportation).
