Win a Family 5-Pack of Passes To A T. rex Named Sue at the Greensboro Science Center!

At 42 feet long and 12 feet high at the hips, Sue is the largest, most complete, and best-preserved  Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered. For a limited time (January 18 – May 4, 2014), visitors to the Greensboro Science Center can come face to face with a life-sized cast skeleton of Sue. A separate cast of Sue’s 5-foot skull allows visitors to get eye-to-eye with this massive dinosaur. Interactive elements offer visitors insight into the world of dinosaurs, including the ability to look through the eyes of dinosaurs, sniff out food, water and shelter, and feel how scientists think the T. rex could – and couldn’t – move its arms. Videos, interpretive graphics and text are also included to enhance visitors’ understanding of Sue’s history, scientists’ research of Sue and how our perception of the T. rex has changed because of their discoveries.

Choosing the Right Medical Care

When you have an unexpected medical problem it’s not always obvious where to go for help. However, thanks to Novant Health, deciding who to call might be easier than you think.

First, call 911 if you recognize any signs of an emergency. If your medical problem does not include emergency symptoms, it’s best to first contact your primary care physicianfor care. Of course, there will be times when you can’t see your regular doctor. For after-hours needs or for patients who do not have an established relationship with a doctor, urgent care centers are a great option too.

If you’re ever in doubt about which care facility to choose, call Novant’s Care Now line, formerly Care Connections, at 336-718-7070 and speak with a nurse 24/7 for free.  The nurse will evaluate your medical condition, recommend the best course of treatment and direct you to a primary care physician, Prime Care urgent care, or the emergency room.

Visit our Private Schools Directory

There are so many factors to consider when choosing the right private school for your child. Are the academics top-notch? Are the classes a good size? What are the experiences of the teachers? Fortunately there are a bunch of great private schools within the Triad to choose from, and we’ve made it easy for you to search with our Private School directory which can always be accessed on our Directory page. It’s also Open House season, and you can find information and dates for many privates school Open Houses here on ourEvents page, or here in our Private Schools category.
