Come Out and Enjoy Historic Körner’s Folly

Families with young ones can enjoy a unique experience at Körner’s Folly, a historic house museum built in 1880 to showcase Jule Körner’s interior design and decorating talents. With twisting, turning passages, through spaces tiny to extravagant, the 22-room self-guided tour is an unforgettable day of mystery and whimsy. Visitors of all ages will leave with an appreciation for this architectural wonder while making connections to local history, Victorian food, fashion, culture, and fine art.

Families are urged to take advantage of the Scavenger Hunt, Photo Scavenger Hunt, Please Touch Baskets, Storyboards, and Introduction Film in order to maximize their time and allow for meaningful engagement with all that Körner’s Folly has to offer.

Körner’s Folly is located at 413 S. Main Street in Kernersville. Open Wednesday – Saturday, 10 AM – 4 PM, and Sunday 1 – 4 PM (Last tickets sold at 3 PM; tour takes approximately 1 hour).  For more information, or to book a Guided Tour, call (336) 996-7922 or email info@kornersfolly.org.

Explore New Interests with Greensboro Performing Arts!

Arts programming is a valuable childhood experience and summer is the best time to start!  There is no shortage of research that supports this; however, it’s easy to edit this endeavor out.  Yes, “Dance is fun!” It brightens our lives and builds lasting friendships as we become part of something bigger than ourselves.   But there’s so much more to dance, theatre and music lessons.

Greensboro Performing Arts wants our children to communicate well, take risks and know how to deal with disappointment, as well as celebrate the victory of hard work and discipline.  Our children learn these valuable life lessons, use imaginations, make choices, and learn it’s OK to make mistakes.  It happens in a safe creative environment, in the studio, at rehearsals, and on the stage!   Use this summer to explore new interests and activities, create fantastic memories and nurture the creativity often neglected during our hectic school year.

Visit their website, www.GreensboroPerformingArts.com or call 336.549.2228 for more information on programs for toddler to teens.
