2011 Choice Award Winner: Monkee’s

Ever look in your closet only to find outdated separates, evening gowns and gym clothes? How is it that we never have the right thing to wear for our chaotic lives? Monkee’s can help you find the perfect look for transitioning from the carpool line to soccer practice to dinner out with your hubby. We created two outfits with the versatility to take you from morning to night in comfort and style.

For our first look, we were inspired by Heidi Klum, who always looks put together running around L.A. with her four children in tow. We channeled Heidi’s love of basic black for an ensemble that is anything but boring. Black leggings from BCBG are a fabulous staple because they are comfortable and sleek. For a figure flattering look for any body type, we love to pair leggings with an oversized wool sweater, like the striped BCBG Camille. Accessorize your look with a great bag large enough to carry everything you need. The BLVD Maggie Market tote has ample space and lots of pockets for keys and cell phones. For the finishing touch, add an adorable pair of ballet flats and don’t be afraid to splurge. The Ferragamo Varina is a timeless shoe that you will wear for years to come.

The inspiration for our second look was Jessica Alba. We admire the easy way she pairs trendy and classic pieces. To mimic Jessica’s look, we started with a fun printed silk blouse by Tolani. A great way to layer these loose pieces is with a fitted Niki Biki camisole. We love the Niki Biki line because everything is one size fits all! Typically, jeans are the most difficult piece of every woman’s wardrobe to find. Tory Burch makes a wonderful straight leg jean that is universally flattering, and the lighter wash is a nice contrast to the tunic’s saturated tones. Embrace nude, the new and most wearable neutral, by carrying the Cole Haan Devin tote, plus the cross body strap frees up hands to juggle anything thrown your way. Metallic Tory Burch Reva flats are the perfect finale to any outfit. Every fashionista needs at least one pair!
