Families are invited to a community celebration – the annual Earth Day Fair – on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10:00AM-4:00PM at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. The festival, hosted by Piedmont Environmental Alliance, is packed with family-friendly activities and programs, great food and music, and interesting exhibits – all FREE to the public.
The Fair’s top-notch children’s activities will include arts and crafts, face-painting, dance, yoga and more. Community partners such as Kaleideum, Sawtooth School for Visual Art, and Bookmarks will offer featured activities, and dozens of other exhibitors will provide creative activities to get kids thinking about the environment. Children who participate in several activities can win a prize when they redeem an “eco stamp card” at the PEA booth. A $5 donation at the entrance gets you a “PEA Pod Pass,” including free lemonade, popcorn and face painting! Students can also have original artwork featured at the fair and have a chance to win prizes by entering the Earth Day Fair Art Contest.
Adult fair-goers will enjoy more than 100 exhibitors, a full and diverse music line-up, and environmentally-themed demonstrations that provide practical tips for living a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle – including how to start composting, backyard bee-keeping, and natural gardening. At the Goodwill Swap Shop, attendees can trade gently used books, jewelry, and clothing to receive new (to you) items for free.
With more than 100 earth-friendly exhibitors, great music, delicious food, and engaging programs, the Piedmont Earth Day Fair is sure to inspire people to take action for a more sustainable community this Earth Day.
