Feel Mayberry’s hipper side come to life every weekend through October with arts, music, food, and craft beers. Mount Airy’s Market Street Arts & Entertainment District blocks off vehicle traffic on Market Street in the downtown district to be pedestrian-only from 5pm Friday evening through 7pm on Sunday.
Every weekend the road will be closed to make way for local makers, food trucks, live entertainment, and small businesses. This is a safe, family-friendly, public event. Since its inception in late 2020, popularity has increased and the offerings have grown with the community. Local students have painted individual parklets to compete for a top prize and an open container policy has been established to allow 21 and older participants to grab a drink and walk the street to shop, enjoy music, or gather at one of the available seating areas.
