Make Back to School Special!
The YMCA Backpack Campaign helps make back to school special for kids whose families may be struggling to make ends meet. Branches of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina gather backpacks and school supplies to ensure every student starts the school year ready to learn. Now through August 15, new members can join the Y for a $0 joining fee when they donate a new backpack. You can join the Y online at ymcanwnc.org – just don’t forget to bring a new, unused backpack to donate on your first visit! Now when you join the Y, you can visit YMCAs across the country as part of your membership. Learn more at ymcanwnc.org/join.
Primrose Schools: The Leader in Early Education and Care®
Primrose Schools is a national system of accredited private preschools that provides a premier early education and child care experience for children and families. The Franchise Owners, Leadership Teams and School Staff partner with parents to help build the right foundation for future learning and in life.
It’s a fact: children learn better when they are engaged. That’s why purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers are key components of Balanced Learning. See how this time-tested approach with a strong emphasis on life skills and character development can help your child develop and excel.
Back to Routines That Include Fun!
Kids shouldn’t dread the school year as the end of summer fun. Movement substantially increases learning! Being part of Individual and team-building training at Tumblebees Ultimate Gym helps to build friendships while keeping their minds and bodies growing.
Gymnastics, Dance and Diving provide a foundation for many other sports in agility, spacial awareness, muscle lengthening and more to reduce injury and increase performance. Rockwall Climbing builds cognitive and physical skills through the use of critical thinking, grip- and whole-body strengthening. Important to note: these kinds of gym-family experiences helps to reduce their anxiety, stress and depression.
Even kids who normally prefer ‘Gaming’ to sports find the structure and science of Fencing and Archery worth leaving the screen. For kids preferring lots of movement and challenge, Parkour, Tricking and Ninja Warrior programs have come from popular TV shows to local gyms. Most of these activities can be started at any age, even as young as Preschool (especially Gymnastics) and beyond college, for great back-to-school/life experiences.
