Tanglewood History

Tanglewood is rich in history, beauty, and southern charm. Originally part of land claimed by Sir Walter Raleigh for Queen Elizabeth in 1584. In 1859, James Johnson built the 18-room Manor House as a wedding gift for his daughter. Later, William Neal Reynolds purchased the estate in 1921, expanding the Manor House to 28 rooms.
