gso-ymcaIt’s Time To Hit the Court!

We may be in football season but it’s not too early to start thinking about shooting some hoops on the Basketball court. Teams are forming now at the Greensboro & Reidsville area YMCAs with practices starting in November. Cheerleading is also available at the Hayes-Taylor & Reidsville locations.  At the YMCA, Youth Sports promote healthy kids, families and communities because when kids play sports they build confidence, discover their personal best, and have fun as part of a team.  The YMCA offers sports programs year-round for kids aged 3-18. Visit the Bryan, Spears, Ragsdale, Reidsville or Hayes-Taylor YMCA locations or visit YMCAGreensboro.org for more information and get ready to hit the court!  The sign-up deadline is October 26th for ages 3-10 and Nov. 27th ages 11 & up. Deadline for the Reidsville YMCA is Oct. 21st.

dtkphotosaluteBe A Boy Scout!

Why is Boy Scouts important to our family?  “Scouting is fun! The program provides quality time for our family and reinforces the values we are teaching our children: how to be helpful and courteous to others.  Through Scouting, our son David has grown into a kind young person who puts others first. He loves teaching younger Scouts how to cook, camp, and conduct science experiments. David’s self-confidence has grown! Scouting has provided exciting opportunities for him and he’s made new friends.” – Lisa, Scouting parent in Greensboro

Old North State Council, Boy Scouts of America delivers character education, leadership skills, career development, and adventure to boys 6 to 18 years, co-eds 14 to 21, and families in Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Guilford, Person, Randolph, and Rockingham counties. 9,000 youth and 3,000 adult volunteers participate at 300 sites.

039-2All Welcome at St. Leo Catholic School Open House

Want an academically challenging environment without exhausting your family budget?  Triad-area families entrusted St. Leo Catholic School to deliver rigorous academics affordably for over sixty years.

St. Leo’s faith-based liberal arts curriculum teaches literacy through research-based instruction in phonics, grammar, written expression and handwriting.  Students gain math and science acumen, exposure to three foreign languages (Chinese, French, Spanish), music and art appreciation, as well as teamwork through their athletic program.  Academic excellence is evident by how well students perform on national standardized tests and the large percentage of students who qualify for academic-focused programs like Duke’s Talent Identification Program.

St. Leo meets the financial needs of families through affordable tuition rates and a tuition assistance program.

Learn how St. Leo Catholic School will meet the academic needs of your child at their Open House on October 19th from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm or call 336-748-8252 to schedule a private tour.
