Carolinas Aviation Museum
Located alongside the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Carolinas Aviation Museum is celebrating 25 years as one of the South’s premier aviation museums. Unique exhibitions tell stories dating back to the very beginnings of flight, while exploring the high-tech world of contemporary aviation. Walk through the indoor hangar deck and get face-to-face with an F-14 Super Tomcat, DC-3 commercial airliner, CH-46 helicopter transport, and Flight 1549—The Miracle on the Hudson, the US Airways Airbus A320 that successfully landed in the Hudson River. Aviators of all ages can create their own adventure by climbing into the cockpit of an F-4 Phantom or Boeing 727. Get ready to experience the wonders of aviation and the stories of the aviators who flew into history. Museum is open 7 days a week and offers a variety of STEM-related educational experiences and special programs for individuals and groups. Visit www.carolinasaviation.org or call 704.997.3770 for more details.

April 21 – Piedmont Earth Day Fair
Families are invited to a FREE community celebration – the annual Earth Day Fair – on Saturday, April 21, 2017 from 10AM – 4 PM at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. The Fair’s top-notch children’s activities will include arts and crafts, face-painting, yoga and more. Community partners such as Kaleideum, Sawtooth School for Visual Art, and Art for Art’s Sake will offer featured activities, and dozens of other exhibitors will provide creative activities to get kids thinking about the environment. Children who participate in several activities can win a prize when they redeem an “eco stamp card” at the PEA booth. A $5 donation at the entrance gets you a free lemonade, popcorn and facepainting!
