Boy Scouts of America: Something for Every Boy and Every Girl
Former Scouting summer camp staffer, Julia Blackburn, shares why every boy and girl can (and should) experience the programs of the Boy Scouts of America. Join today at www.BeAScout.org.
“There are a lot of reasons why I love Scouting. If I had the opportunity, I would have joined. I attended outings with my brother’s Scout troop, and I enjoyed every single one of them. Any time I would go anywhere, I would learn something new and get to do something interesting. It was a good experience even when I attended their weekly meetings. It wasn’t just a club. They were learning life lessons, like leadership. I learned more than I ever thought I would. It’s more than earning merit badges. It’s about being on teams and making friends. It’s a string of experiences that you’ll keep with you forever. Scouting is something that every boy and girl should experience.”

Greensboro Day School Enrichment Classes
Greensboro Day School is excited to announce the 2018-19 Bengal Tots classes. This program is for children ages 18 months to 3 years old with their parent or caregiver.
Join them for a free kick-off event on Friday, September 28 at 9:30 a.m. Register online at greensboroday.org/BengalTots. Beginning in October, enjoy three classes a month through April 2019.
Classes include age-appropriate activities to nurture young children’s social/emotional and cognitive learning development using language, science, art, and music.
Children will rotate between stations led by GDS teachers, participate in an interactive story, and parents will leave with information how to incorporate similar activities at home. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children benefit from more time spent in active play and early education helps to develop the important social/emotional and language skills that are vital to healthy brain development.
