In Motion Dance Center begins the 28^th year serving the Winston-Salem community. This dance center is established as a premier school offering the highest studio technical training possible. Plus, age appropriate instruction, wholesome music selection and modest costuming for our annual recitals.

In Motion Dance Center is dedicated to providing quality dance instruction in all forms of dance for all ages from 2½ to adult. All this in an environment where the youngest dancers can start their dancing dream right on through the years when all dancers can realize their highest potential.

The nurturing staff, with over 100 combined years of teaching experience, has been selected for their outstanding training. In addition to performance background as well as their teaching credentials and experience.

In Motion takes pride in offering dancers not only an established, successful curriculum of dance which allows for appropriate and challenging progress. Yet, also staying on the cutting edge of dance training by implementing new and exciting programs on a continual basis. Some of the innovative programs include:  Progressive Ballet Technique, Pilates, Acrobatic Arts, and the Giordano jazz technique. All of the instructors who teach the amazing supplemental programs are certified in these respective fields.

A year-round dance experience is offered. The “dance year” runs September thru May and concludes with multiple outstanding recitals. The summer is filled with opportunities for all ages including summer dance camps, training intensives for older more advanced dancers. Plus, introductory weekly classes for brand new dancers to begin their training.

In Motion believe that every dancer who would like the opportunity to perform more than the annual recital should have that chance. To accomplish this goal, a recreational level dance team and a highly competitive dance troupe is offered. In addition to a hip hop only performing group. There is a place for everyone at IMDC!

One of the most inspiring programs offered, which begins its fifth year, is Leaps Without Bounds. Leaps Without Bounds is an all-inclusive FREE dance class for children with special needs! To the best of our ability, the classes are structured to engage each dancer to participate. Consideration is given to all the special needs of each dancer. In Motion incorporates a variety of activities and movement exercises to insure the students are moving and smiling together! Classes are held twice a month on Fridays from 7:30-8:15pm.

Not only are all types of dance training and opportunities for children offered, we also have a Mommy and Me program for mothers who want to experience class with their toddlers and additional adult classes.
