Join Greensboro Montessori School for a glimpse of what happens in Greensboro Montessori School’s Lower Elementary classrooms on any given day. Meet professional educators and speak with current families. Additionally, check out the classroom materials, and explore the 10-acre campus. Experience firsthand how a Montessori education prepares students for confidence and success as they grow! This Open House is ideal for families whose children will be entering first, second, or third grade this August.

First, second and third graders at Greensboro Montessori School are members of the Lower Elementary division. The three-year, multi-age environment naturally instills a sense of community. After all, students have the opportunity to mentor others and cultivate strong personal relationships. Tailored lessons meet each child’s learning preference and pace. Plus, students complete a blend of self-chosen work in conjunction with daily work assigned by the teacher. Teachers check students’ work daily and offer opportunities for corrections, repeated lessons, and extensions. By putting emphasis on effort, work process, and doing your personal best, children learn personal responsibility. One-on-one or small group lessons (usually two to seven students at a time) are given according to each child’s needs, and student progress is assessed using multiple methodologies throughout the school year (e.g., daily observations, trimester progress reports, MAP Growth assessments, etc.).

Established in 1974, Greensboro Montessori School is located at 2856 Horse Pen Creek Road in Greensboro and can be reached online at gms.org and via phone at 336-668-0119.
