Ah, summer. The sunshine, the day trips, and the free time. Yes, the free time. You know, that time between work and the chores and taking the children places when school is out. That time.

How are you going to celebrate it?

Summer Plans

The Miriam P. Brenner Children’s Museum may have some answers.

The upcoming sunny season means summertime field trips, day camps, and a free parking lot party!

Field Trips

Although school is out, field trips are still available! The Museum’s three-hour Discovery Visit allows visitors in a group of at least 10 to play throughout the 20+ indoor and outdoor exhibits at their own pace. Any group is welcome, from daycares to youth groups to homeschool students. Play is necessary for the summer; it’s all about finding the right outlet!

Summer Camps

MBCM summer camps – one of the most beloved times of the year for staff and visitors – start in June and end in August. All season long, the Museum offers themed day camps ranging from science and art to gardening and cooking. Every camp is curated by experienced MBCM educators that take months to brainstorm and bring the excitement to reality for young campers.

With how much they are anticipated, the Museum is sold out this year, but make sure to register for the waitlist in case there is a chance to join! Keep the fun in mind next January when sales begin.

Parking Lot Party

The season for heat is also the time when MBCM hosts its only parking lot party of the year, adequately named, Kick Off to Summer! This will be the third annual party, where some of MBCM’s inside activities, like the blue building blocks, hula hoops, giant Connect Four game, and more are brought outside. There will also be summery crafts, live music, food trucks, and other special (to-be-announced) activities for all who make it out to the party!

Join this family-fun, hands-on learning extravaganza from 10a-2p on Saturday, May 27. For inside play, admission is $10 per person, except for the littles under 12 months. They get in for free!

Make Your Summer Plans at MBCM!

There is so much to do this summer, but families, especially the children, need a respite too. MBCM playtime (which has the perfect amount of developmental learning) is the way for children to keep their minds sharp over their school break.

Join MBCM for one of these opportunities, or even a regular day trip!

Follow the Museum’s Facebook, Instagram, and website, for more updates and details as summer gets underway!
