St. Leo’s Preschool Program
St. Leo Catholic School is expanding its academically-focused Preschool Program. Starting fall 2016, they will offer a Flexible 5 Day Program from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Parents may register for T/TH, M/W/F, Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday programs. Breakfast Bunch and Lunch Bunch will be offered 5 days a week for an additional fee. Pre-Kindergarten continues its 5 day-a-week program. Preschool curriculum includes Circle Time, Learning Centers, Zoo Phonics, Religion, Spanish, Fitness and Music. Pre-Kindergarten also includes Computer and Library. Lead teachers for both programs earned bachelor’s degrees and are certified by the Diocese of Charlotte. Preschool has an Assistant Teacher and Pre-Kindergarten has two Assistant Teachers which equates to a 6:1 and 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio respectively. Preschool accepts potty-trained children who are 3-years-old by August 31. Pre-Kindergarten accepts children who are 4-years-old by August 31. Both programs are accepting applications. Cheers! A Toast to Children’s Health
Raise your glass and support Brenner Children’s Hospital at the 11th Annual Cheers! A toast to children’s health on Friday, April 8, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Old Salem Visitor Center. Cheers! is one of Winston-Salem’s favorite spring traditions. You’ll enjoy more than 100 wines from around the world, a fun sampling of North Carolina brews, and cuisine from local restaurants and caterers. Tickets for the Grand Tasting are $75 per person. The Cellar returns to Cheers! The Cellar, a special reserve tasting room located within the Grand Tasting event, will feature 10 reserve wines to taste. Tickets for The Cellar which includes admission to the Grand Tasting and a keepsake wine glass are $130 per person. Thirsty yet? Tickets are only available in advance. Kindergarten Information Day at the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem
Calling all rising kindergartners! The Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem is hosting the second-annual Kindergarten Information Day on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Thanks to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and event sponsor Wells Fargo, Museum admission is FREE for everyone all day, and the Museum will be offering extended hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.! Kindergarten Information Day is an excellent opportunity for parents, caregivers, and rising kindergartners to learn more about signing up for school and what they can expect in the upcoming year. Representatives from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School system will be hosting two information sessions at the Museum from 10 a.m. to noon and 5 to 7 p.m. to help families with rising kindergarten students navigate the registration process. Additional information on transportation, child nutrition, magnet programs, and dual language programs will be available.
Daddy Daughter Date Night
For the first time at the Women’s Basketball Tournament, the ACC is hosting a Daddy Daughter Date Night during the night session of the Quarterfinals on Friday, March 4! This package includes two tickets that are good for both the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. games, plus two $5 Bojangles’ Gift Cards, an ACC Lanyard and a Mini ACC Autographed Basketball.
