It’s time to start thinking about – and booking – your summer camp plans. And if you have one or more children in elementary school, week-long summer day camps atSciWorks may be just the ticket.
During the weeks of June 20 through August 12, kids can spend the day at SciWorks exploring the exhibits and going behind the scenes, while making new friends and reuniting with old ones. SciWorks’ summer day camps are for rising Kindergarten through rising 6th grade students. Children may sign up for one week or several (and receive a discount!).
This year, our animal and space themed camps will be offered with the half-day or whole-day option, whichever suits you best. For Rising K- 1st grade, we have special camps designed just for them: “Playful Pirates”, a Lego and K’neX camp called “Buildaroos”, “Stinky!Slimy!”, “Sun Up – Sun Down”, “Science of Play” and “Toad and Turtle are Friends”.
Rising 2nd-3rd grade students will enjoy “Space Spectacular”, “The Science of Yuck”, “Animals Among Us”, “Snap, Stack and Roll!”, “Movers and Shakers”, and “Buccaneer Buddies”.
For the older kids, rising 4-6thgrade, we’ve got some great camps ready to roll out: “N.O.A.A.’s Ark”, “A Dirty Dozen”, “Space Odyssey”, “Architect Apprentice”, “Game On!”, and back by popular demand, ”Pirates!”.
Kids who come to SciCamp have fun as their minds are engaged with hands-on activities. They enjoy fun in the shade during recess – right after lunch. To view the brochure, calendar and registration form for SciWorks’ Summer SciCamp, click here.
For anyone with an appreciation for science, SciWorks has it all. And what child isn’t into learning something new? From the moment you walk in the door, you are engrossed in educational and recreational special exhibits. The museum always features certain exhibits (Foucault Pendulum, NC’s Mountains to Sea, PhysicsWorks, SoundWorks, HealthWorks, BioWorks, and KidsWorks), along with a 50 ft. dome planetarium and environmental park with nature trails. Here you’ll discover habitats for river otters, deer and water fowl, barnyard animals such as goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, and a miniature horse. Plus, the museum is always bringing in new traveling exhibits that never fail to amaze.
