Boys & Girls Are Invited to Join Cub Scouts

Recently Cub Scouts opened up to both boys and girls for the first time, and many families are excited about the new change. Scouting embraces the outdoors with hands-on activities like camping, hiking and physical activities, while focusing on strong values that build physical, mental and emotional character. By welcoming girls into the program, more youth in our area will have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises, and be better prepared for future success.

Cub packs that serve both boys and girls will include dens with boys and dens with girls and will come together for awards ceremonies and family activities.

Back to School is the perfect time to consider Cub Scouting—and many Cub Packs are having Open Houses with their meetings in September. Girls and boys ages 5-10 are eligible to join.  To find a Cub pack near you visit BeAScout.org.  Or contact the Old Hickory Council at (336)760-2900 or visit oldhickorycouncil.org.
