Friends of Brenner Children’s Hospital Offers Children’s Book, “Winston-Salem from A to Z!”
There’s an exciting new gift idea and it’s one where the shopping helps a great cause! Brenner Children’s Hospital at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has published a children’s book about the city of Winston-Salem.
“Winston-Salem from A to Z” is an original story that incorporates the city’s historical figures, landmarks and characteristics—one item for each letter of the alphabet. The book’s colorful illustrations were created by current and former Brenner patients, and the book’s author is a local student. All readers will enjoy exploring through the eyes of local children and learning about all the things that give Winston-Salem its unique character.
The book is available through Wake Forest Baptist’s Office of Development and Alumni Affairs and local Winston-Salem businesses. For a list of local businesses or to purchase your copy online, visit www.BrennerChildrens.org. All proceeds benefit Brenner Children’s Hospital. Unplug at Camp Hanes
At the base of the beautiful Sauratown Mountain, YMCA Camp Hanes is a place where kids unplug and explore. Campers encounter adventure along every trail from water slides to zip lines to hikes up the mountain. They challenge themselves by choice in the safe, supportive environment just northwest of Winston-Salem. Kids grow at YMCA Camp Hanes. With time just to be a kid, campers become more independent and self-reliant. They face new challenges and form new friendships. They overcome fears. And with each goal they accomplish, kids grow more confident. You and your family are invited to visit YMCA Camp Hanes to see for yourself! The Resident and Day Camp Open House will take place on April 27th from 1pm-4pm. There will be tours, activities for the family and registration available. For more information or to schedule a visit, call 336-983-3131 or visit www.camphanes.org. Mention TMoM when registering for a residential summer session, and get a $50 TMoM discount!
