Bedwetting Troubles?
After two years of school challenges, masking, and travel restrictions it is exciting to think about the world re-opening. But if your child suffers from bedwetting, the thought of travel or sleep away camp can be anxiety provoking.
What can you do at home to help:
- Avoid acidic foods such as oranges, tomatoes, or spicy foods before bed.
- Limit fluid before bed, especially milk or ice cream which can irritate the bladder.
- Keep the bladder happy throughout the day by sipping water.
- Empty the bladder throughout the day and avoid holding for long periods of time.
- Avoid constipation which can cause the rectum to press on the bladder and irritate the bladder nerves.
Still having issues and feeling lost? Pediatric pelvic floor physical therapy could be the answer. Peace Physical Therapy can help your toddler to teen learn healthy habits and help them overcome bowel and bladder issues. Visit them online, as well as on Facebook and Instagram.
