Summer is the perfect time for your child to receive the support they need to be successful in school all year long. Noble Academy offers two specialized summer camps: Math Can Make Sense and Strategies for Success. Individualized tutoring is also offered at Noble Academy during the summer months, as well as during the school year.

Kick off an enriching summer at Noble Academy with the Math Can Make Sense camp for rising 4th through 6th graders. This summer program aims to provide instruction designed to convert seemingly abstract math concepts, such as multiplication, division and fractions, into knowledge that can be retained and understood on a mastery level. This conceptualization is done through the use of manipulatives, hands-on projects and games – thereby making math instruction fun and engaging! Our highly qualified instructor, Kelly Hoyme, not only has multiple years of experience working with elementary aged students but is also a veteran teacher of this particular program and methodology. Hoyme delivers direct instruction in a way that captivates their attention and pairs it with interactive activities that help reinforce the skill and make connections.

For rising 7th through 9th grade students, Noble Academy offers a week-long Strategies for Success camp. Students can get a jump start on the school year and receive coaching on their transition to junior high or high school. This camp is strategically scheduled to begin in the weeks leading up to the new school year to help re-establish the rhythm of a school day. Samantha Stichter, one of Noble Academy’s own faculty members, brings a vast background of knowledge and experience to this camp. Stichter expertly uses movement, technology and individual and group activities to focus on strategies like organization, leadership, main ideas and summarizing, teamwork, test-taking strategies, and study skills.

While the staff at Noble Academy is specifically trained to serve students with learning differences and attention disorders, tutoring is open to all students in the community, with and without a diagnosed learning difference. Many of the strategies that help our full-day students succeed in the classroom can also bring powerful results in a tutoring situation. Students who are having trouble learning a specific subject, who need a motivational boost, or whose organizational skills impact their academic performance can all find success with a Noble Academy tutor. Our tutoring program is broken down into two divisions, Wilson Reading SystemⓇ and Academic Coaching.

Our Wilson Reading SystemⓇ instruction consists of remediation techniques for encoding, decoding and fluency, and employs a multisensory Orton-Gillingham structured approach by a WilsonⓇ Certified Instructor. Skills are taught in an intensive, structured and individualized manner. We strongly recommend a minimum of two sessions per week.

Academic Coaching offers personalized one-to-one instruction to help improve skills based on the student’s learning style, strengths and weaknesses. During academic coaching, tutors can provide students with homework help, strategies to be successful writers, math and much more. Tutoring is designed to meet the needs of each individual learner.
