Summer Is Spectacular at Kaleideum!

Visit Kaleideum this summer and experience two exciting exhibits. If individuals visit one Museum in the morning, you can visit the other in the afternoon for free with your receipt. Teachers always receive free admission with their ID, whether they are visiting individually or with a group.

Toy Time
Take a trip back in time with Toy Time at Kaleideum Downtown. There were no cell phones or video games, and batteries were never included! Engage and delight in tumbling, sliding, rocking, spinning, dancing, and flying folk toys that demonstrate the effects of gravity, inertia, rhythm, harmonic motion, and mechanics. Toy Time opens Thursday, May 24, at Kaleideum Downtown.

Ice Venture!
When the summer heat gets you down, you can chill out in Ice Venture! At Kaleideum North, you can dream of snowy weather as you decorate a snowman, have a snowball fight, go ice fishing, slide on a sock skating rink, and more. Ice Venture! opens Saturday, May 26, at Kaleideum North.

What’s New at the Greensboro Children’s Museum

This summer, the Greensboro Children’s Museum (GCM) will open its newest indoor exhibit. With 10 interactive learning stations, children of all ages will experience the captivating feeling of playing and controlling water. They’ll investigate concepts of volume, weight, pressure, force, buoyancy, density and displacement, while making decisions, testing ideas, and using problem-solving skills. Waterproof smocks and hand dryers will be available in the exhibit area.

The water feature is Phase 2 of the Museum’s “Reaching Greater Heights” expansion project, which launched in 2015 with the objective of opening signature features to strengthen GCM’s mission of engaging children and families in hands-on, fun learning experiences. Phase 1 was completed in summer 2017 with the addition of the Outdoor Play Plaza. Construction on Phase 3, a technology and interactive media exhibit, begins in 2019.

For updates on the water feature opening and other Museum events, join Greensboro Children’s Museum’s email list.
