Hello from Summer FamilyCare!
We are a small, independent private Family Practice located in the heart of Lewisville, just off NC 421 on Shallowford Road. We have been here since 2005, which comes as a shock to many, even residents of nearby neighborhoods. We consider ourselves a hidden gem! We are the perfect choice in family care for those that might be more comfortable bringing their family, and themselves, to a small practice with familiar, friendly, courteous staff. Many folks would prefer more personalized care and 
not have to trust their most valuable primary care to a large practice, part of a larger system, where individuals get lost in the shuffle. Think of us like “Cheers,” everyone here will know your name, and you will know ours.
Our small practice may get lost in the “noise” sometimes when you are exploring health care providers, but we will be sure that our patients will never get lost! By remaining a small, local business, we are able to keep our costs down and focus on what is most important – you!
So what about us? Well, I (Dr. Michael Summer, or “Mr. Dr. Summer”, or “Dr. Mike”) actually hate talking about myself, but I am happy to tell you that our practice, and our staff is the best, most 
friendly group around. If you need an appointment, call us, we will actually answer the phone with a live person, who is also actually here in the office and knows you. If you have a question, call us. If you need to be seen today, yes, call us, we always reserve space for same-day appointments and we will always make sure to see your sick child that day even if we have no slots left. Just because there are “Urgent Care” clinics that do not require an appointment, that does not make 
them a better option. We know you and your medical history. If you don’t have insurance, that is OK! We go out of our way to make our self-pay charges fair.
What do we do? We have X-rays on location so we can evaluate most injuries. If you need blood tests, we draw your blood here to send to the lab. We do not have to send YOU to the lab. We do most routine procedures such as physicals, minor surgery (skin lesions, etc), stitches, and vaccines. We also routinely do well-woman exams including Pap smears. A “physical” is more than just a Pap smear, so why are you still going to your OB long after you have been pregnant? 
We treat the Whole YOU. Mrs. Dr. Summer (“Dr. Leigh”) is here on Wednesday mornings (“Well-Woman Wednesdays”) for those who prefer to see a female physician for their physicals.
We see all ages, from newborn up. Everyone can come to the same place if you wish. We see multiple generations of many families, which is rewarding for us.
In summary, we offer complete primary care for all ages the old-fashioned way … in a small setting with personal attention. The good news for you is that we plan to stay that way no matter what.
