Rita-Pink-1Get Back Outside with Mosquito Authority

If you enjoy playing, cooking out and relaxing in your yard, then it’s time to fight these annoying bloodsuckers once and for all with help from The Mosquito Authority of the Triad! Due to concerns about a variety of mosquito-borne diseases, eliminating early breeders, treating habitat and establishing protection around your home are particularly important this year. Mosquito Authority’s comprehensive program breaks the mosquito life cycle to keep the disease-carrying pests out of your yard – and your life – all season long. All their treatments include REPEL+PLUS which was designed and formulated by Mosquito Authority for maximum mosquito control. Built around very strict guidelines put in place by the Environmental Protection Agency, some components of REPEL+PLUS use no pesticides at all. For more information on REPEL+PLUS or other Mosquito Authority, call Shea directly at 336-712-5278 or send an email to her at shea@bugsbite.com.

Join Camp Hanes for the Best Summer Ever!

YMCA Camp Hanes Day Camp offers campers all the excitement of residential camp without spending the night. Campers are picked up in the morning from William G. White Jr. Family YMCA, Fulton Family YMCA and Robinhood Road Family YMCA and transported to YMCA Camp Hanes. They will spend the day participating in activities like canoeing, swimming, lake slide, water zip line, archery, riflery, arts and crafts, nature fun and field games. Each afternoon, campers are returned to their drop off location.

Camp Hanes also offers a Teen Leadership Training Program. This three week program is designed for young men and women who have a drive to learn leadership skills. They will participate in group discussions, team building, initiatives, and challenge course participation. They will also participate in service projects at camp and help with the day camp program. This will teach the importance of sharing their talents and abilities with others, and of course they will have fun enjoying the activities with their peers. Learn more HERE on the website.

At the Greensboro YMCA, participating in Sports isn’t just about winning. It’s about the character, confidence, life skills, healthy habits and teamwork that kids learn when they play as part of a team.  The YMCA offers sports programs for boys and girls aged 3-18.  And while it might still be chilly outside, now is the time for your kids to sign up for Spring Sports including Soccer, T-ball/Baseball, Flag Football and Volleyball.  Practices start in early March.  Visit the Bryan, Spears, Ragsdale, Hayes-Taylor or Reidsville YMCA locations or visit them online at YMCAGreensboro.org for more information and to join the team! The YMCA’s goal is to turn no one away due to inability to pay, so financial assistance is available for those who qualify. The sign-up deadline is Feb. 26, 2016.
