Continue Your Education at the Fleer Center at Salem College

“I’m a mom and I work full time. When I realized I wanted to transition to a new career, I was worried about balancing work and going back to school all while being able to spend time with my young daughter. The flexible class schedule and supportive faculty and staff of the Fleer Center for Adult Education at Salem College made going back to school possible. It’s easy to come up with reasons not to go back to school. Time and money are two of the biggest fears holding people back. However, as I and many others have discovered, the Fleer Center is affordable and flexible, making going back to school completely doable. “ ~ Heather M.

Make plans to attend an info session on September 25 at 5:30 p.m. or September 27 at 10 a.m. to find out more. If you come to one of those sessions, Salem College will waive your application fee. They’ll even request and pay for your transcripts! Call (336) 721-2669 to reserve a spot. Visitsalem.edu/fleercenter for info.

Kaitlyn and Jordan Classic 2014

We all have moments and people we will never forget.  For one family in the Triangle, it began when their first daughter, Kaitlyn, was born three months premature. Then, three years later, their second daughter, Jordan, was diagnosed with a genetic condition called Marfan Syndrome.

The family will never forget the doctors and nurses that stood by Kaitlyn 24 hours a day, or the moment they learned Jordan’s heart required extensive monitoring and ongoing treatment. To say thanks to the Duke Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery and The Marfan Foundation, they’re asking for help to give back.

Join them for a day of golf at the Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club in Chapel Hill. Registration for the Captain’s Choice event includes tee time, box lunch, golf cart, refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. Registration deadline is September 30. Click HERE for details.

Today’s Sunday Spotlight is sponsored by the YMCA of Northwest NC, Kissing Tree Studio, Salem College’s Fleer Center, and TL Cleaning.
