October 3-10: Virtual Triad Run/Walk for Autism

Join the Autism Society of North Carolina for the 12th annual Triad Run/Walk for Autism. This year, they’re going virtual! During the week of October 3-10, participants are invited to complete a 5k or fun run/walk at their convenience. On October 10, at 9 a.m., they will live stream to recognize participants, team award winners, donors, and sponsors. Register and start building your team at triadrunwalkforautism.com

You can make a difference in the lives of children with autism and their families by registering and raising donations for the Triad Run/Walk for Autism. Now more than ever, individuals with autism and their families need you! Proceeds from this event will fund local programs of the Autism Society of North Carolina, the leading statewide resource organization serving people in NC across the spectrum throughout their lifespans. If you have questions, please email runwalk@autismsociety-nc.org or call 800-442-2762, ext. 1106.

X-Plan Parenting with Author Bert Fulks

Canterbury School welcomes author Bert Fulks for a webinar to discuss building a foundation of trust with our children. This virtual event is free and open to the public. Click here to register.

Bert’s simple parenting idea went viral several years ago: if your teenagers find themselves in a situation where they feel uncomfortable or trapped, they can text a family member an X. That family member will then call, giving the teen a way out while still maintaining their freedom.

Bert has expanded this concept in his book “X-Plan Parenting” to emphasize the importance of developing an allied relationship with your children, rather than trying to be their best friend or their adversary. When kids know parents have their backs, they can grow into who they were made to be.

With nearly 30 years’ experience working with kids, Bert insightfully provides wisdom, understanding, and compassion to parents and children.

2020 Triad Fall Consignment Sales

Sales are happening now in our area! If you are ready to sell, volunteer, or shop at our local consignment sales, this list will be your best guide. However due to COVID-19, many fall consignment sales are still in the process of confirming dates and adjusting guidelines, while some have pushed their dates back or cancelled all together. Our directory lists all known local sales in order by city and public sale dates, and we continually add to it. If you have a sale to add, email us here and we’ll update our list!
