Tis the running season!

mistletoe-fun-runIt’s  time to register for the YMCA Mistletoe Fun Run, 5K, and Half Marathon, one of the longest-standing races in our community!

A healthy holiday tradition for 33 years, the event aims to stop childhood obesity. All proceeds from this event go to the YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign, with a focus on supporting youth obesity prevention programs. Participants are encouraged to wear festive costumes and true to the spirit of the YMCA, this is a family-friendly event popular among families, first-time runners and walkers, and serious athletes alike. Kids’ Afternoon Out

kmo2It’s time for Forsyth Family Magazine’s monthly Kids’ Morning Out, but this month they are spending the afternoon together at the home of Wake Forest Basketball! This event will take place on Friday, November 11th from 3-6pm at the LJVM Coliseum 2825 University Parkway in Winston-Salem.

This is a free event where parents and kids of all ages can enjoy an afternoon of FUN! Enjoy activities including a bounce house and photo opportunities with the Deacon. You can also choose to stay and then enjoy free admission to the Ladies Basketball game at 4 PM. Each adult also receives 4 tickets for the fabulous prize board drawings! Pinkie and Blue

pnb-final_full-copyNorth Carolina Theatre for Young People presents the Regional Premiere of Pinkie and Blue!

On a magical night, two famous paintings, Pinkie and The Blue Boy are brought to life by the lights of a blue moon. Now they have one night to fly into all the other paintings around them, and have a “once-in-a-blue-moon” adventure. Based on the famous paintings displayed at the Huntington Art Museum, this visually stunning new work follows Pinkie and Blue on a magical journey into other famous works of art, accompanied by iconic classical music.  Appropriate for children of all ages!
