June 30-August 1; programs offered for children who have completed grades K-9
Reynolda House Museum of American Art Summer Adventures are a tradition in Winston-Salem and an experience that children never forget. With alumni of the program now sending their own children to the Museum’s camps, the legacy of inspiration continues with a new generation. If your child enjoys art or writing, this is one camp that must be on your list! While students create original works of art and writing compositions, they are surrounded by masterpieces of American art, stunning architecture, and historic furnishings. Plus, new this year, the Museum is offering a Creative Writing Workshop for students in 6th – 9th grades to explore the writing process from concept to publishing. All day camps include tours of the Museum and exploration of the historic Reynolda Estate. Discounts are available for members of the Museum and for sibling enrollment. Register today at reynoldahouse.org/kids or 336.758.5599.
This is a fun, inspiring event that gives hope to everyone affected by multiple sclerosis in our community. The money raised supports life-changing programs for individuals affected by MS and helps back vital research to end MS for good. Families, corporate groups, and individuals are welcome to participate in the 2014 Walk MS events as part of a team, as volunteers, or as sponsors. Participants are the ones who truly make Walk MS a great experience. By dedicating your time, talents, and skills, you drive the MS Society’s success —they couldn’t do it without you! Participate at one of five locations this spring, including the NC Zoo on March 29th, Wake Forest University at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem on April 5th and Jaycee Park in Greensboro on April 12th. Together everyone will celebrate the progress made and show how the power of connections makes us as strong as ever. For more information on the event and how you can register, visit www.walkMS.org or call 336-299-5473.
