Autumn Margarita Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila preferably reposado
  • 1 oz cinnamon simple syrup* see method
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz apple cider fresh or store-bought
  • 1/2 oz orange liqueur like Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • Cinnamon and sugar for rimming the glass
  • Ice cubes
  • *For cinnamon simple syrup:
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick*

Instructions
 

  • Method:
  • Make Cinnamon Simple Syrup (if you don't have it pre-made):
  • In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 cinnamon stick. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Once it reaches a simmer, remove from heat and let the syrup cool. Discard the cinnamon stick.
  • Prepare the Glass:
  • On a small plate, mix equal parts cinnamon and sugar. Moisten the rim of your glass with a lime wedge and dip it into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat the rim.
  • Shake the Cocktail:
  • Add the tequila, cinnamon simple syrup, lime juice, apple cider, and orange liqueur to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Serve:
  • Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge or cinnamon stick, if desired.
