The Center for Visual Artists is excited to announce “Unraveled,” an extraordinary exhibition that will showcase the intricate artistry and craftsmanship of fiber arts. This one-of-a-kind show invites artists to explore the expressive potential of fibers, textiles, and textures, highlighting the innovative ways these materials are used to create both 2D and 3D works of art.
Our First Friday opening reception on April 4th, Unraveled offers a platform for the community to experience the richness and diversity of fiber arts in all its forms. The exhibition will feature works that delve into the tactile and visual power of fabric, thread, yarn, and other fibers, demonstrating their role not only in craftsmanship but as mediums for contemporary artistic expression.
“We’re thrilled to bring Unraveled to life and to highlight the diverse and often underappreciated world of fiber arts,” says Sage Betts, curator of the exhibition. “The show is an exploration of texture, technique, and the ways in which fiber-based art can tell compelling stories and evoke deep emotion. Whether through a tapestry, a sculpture, or a quilt, each piece brings a unique perspective on the endless creative possibilities that fibers can offer.”
The exhibition will run from April 4th to April 26th at The CVA Gallery, located at 200 N Davie St. Opening reception details, as well as other exhibition events, will be announced closer to the date.
