Sandy has called the Triad home since her parents moved here when she was three years old. She recently moved to the small foothills town of Boonville. This put her family closer to the mountains and lots of adventure.  Before having children, she was an educational tutor for 13 years at Sylvan Learning Center. She also worked in public relations with a local music production company. Mixed in all of this, she would write for different local sites and publications, including TMoM. Now she is a wife to an amazing, supportive man and a mom of three wild and free kiddos. She homeschools, loves all things nature and the outdoors, writing and a good cup of coffee. She is thrilled to be a part of TMoM!

Ellen Bryant Lloyd

Blogger

Ellen grew up in Wilmington, NC but found her way to Greensboro where she attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She loved the Triad so much, she decided to stay after graduating and launched her career at the News & Record where she worked in advertising, sales and marketing. After six years, she shifted gears to pursue her passion: writing. Ellen discovered this passion in the third grade when she was given a school assignment to write a story, illustrate it and then bind it into a book. This experience gave her a feeling of pure joy and an inkling that she was called to be a writer. Almost two decades later, she embraced her writing and has since published two children’s books and written hundreds of articles, lifestyle features and blog posts. She also ghostwrites memoirs and is close to finishing several fiction projects. Ellen loves being a blogger for TMOM with her columns, “Ellen’s Book Nook,” and “A Mindful Mom.” She and her husband, Lee, live in Greensboro and have a son who has flown from the nest and a daughter who is not far from it. They also have the sweetest dog ever, Lexi, who eagerly welcomes visits from her two-legged siblings, as do her two-legged parents.

Original co-founders

Rachel Hoeing & Katie Moosbrugger

What started as an idea scribbled on a Chick-fil-A napkin soon became a reality in 2010. Rachel and Katie developed Triad Moms on Main with the sole purpose of creating an inclusive online community of Triad moms and dads. Today that community includes tens of thousands of readers who log on to the site each and every day, subscribe to TMoM’s newsletter, and follow the site on social media.

With Rachel’s background in elementary education and Katie’s background in PR, the partnership was the perfect blend of knowledge and experience to grow Triad Moms on Main into the area’s premier resource for parents. The two have lived in the Triad with their respective families for over 18 years and have raised their children while running the site. Now that they each have grown children, Rachel and Katie recognized the need to pass the torch. The Triad Moms on Main team has expanded to a group of 20 incredible women, and we all cannot wait to see what the future holds.
