If you are like me, you still have plenty of holiday shopping to do. It seems that every year I always put the men off until last. My husband, my father-in-law, my brother-in-laws … I am always at a loss for ideas.
Hopefully the list I gathered below will arm you with some presents that will make all the men in your life smile this holiday season. I have chosen a wide variety of price points. You will also find a few local store ideas as well as some quick and easy online ordering.
Enjoy the ideas below and as always, please comment with thoughts of your own!
Rotating Lamps from Score More Sports
This gift is a win-win, as you can win over your man and also buy local! Score More Sports is a locally owned collectibles store in Winston-Salem. If you think these rotating lamps look good in the picture, just wait until you see them lit up! This is a great gift for kids, teens or adults and is the perfect addition to any “fan cave.” The lamps are $34.99 each, and you may choose from an assortment of college or pro teams. They measure 12″ in height and 5″ in diameter and rotate every 40 seconds. Stop in Score More Sports and I am sure you will find many other ideas for the sports lovers on your list like authentic memorabilia, sports cards, and unique college & pro home décor.
Marmot Stockholm Vest
My husband found this vest on sale at Mast General Store and has not stopped talking about it since. He claims it is the warmest vest he has ever owned. As the website says, “This insulated vest keeps the inside in—with its generous interior mobile office pocket—with high-quality 650-fill down and durably water-resistant ripstop face fabric.” It comes in a variety of colors. It’s original price is fairly expensive at $175. I think we lucked out on the clearance sale because it was end-of-season, but I did a little research online and found some discounts for you at BackCountry, CampSaver, ShoeBuy, and Moosejaw.
Mercy Streams Custom Ties
Are these ties gorgeous or what? I know a tie for a gift seems so cliche, but if you purchase one of these ties, it will surely stand out. Best of all, these are locally made by local Triad mom, Janice Kraft. Mercy Streams is a Quality Custom Tie Boutique for Men and Boys (but has also recently added accessories for her!) Custom orders and collections are Janice’s specialty. You can even order ties to match for your sons & husband. Visit her Etsy page here to view these one-of-a-kind ties.
Zazzle T-shirts
I guess it depends on your sense of humor, but I think some of these shirts are hilarious. Pictured is a T that I actually bought for my husband for our gag gift swap a few years ago. Better yet – he actually wears it. 🙂 Check out other options at www.zazzle.com.
Headlamp from Cabela’s
I know this seems like a random gift, but my husband and son both own a headlamp and use them more than you can imagine. Camping, exploring outdoors, grilling in the dark, crawling into the attic, fixing something behind the TV. You name it. The best part about these is that they serve the same purpose as a flashlight but you have your hands free. You can find these at most outdoor type stores, but we personally love Cabela’s! This headlamp is on sale right now for $22.99. The closest store is in WV, so you will want to do this ordering online. As you browse www.cabelas.com, I am sure you will find other gift ideas as well!
Personalized Hops Pub Glasses
There are a couple different reasons why I chose these for my list. First off, they are from Gifts.com which I always recommend. They have quality products that arrive on time and even have gorgeous gift wrapping available. I also LOVE giving anything personalized. It seems that we seldom by personalized items for ourselves, so the holidays are a great time to give something tailored to the gift recipient. This is a 4-glass set which features custom graphics and additional personalization for any beer lover in your family. This particular set is priced at $49.95.
Cigars from Havana Phil’s
Another great idea if you are trying to shop local this season. Havana Phil’s is located on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro and carries fine handmade cigars and accessories. It has a walk in humidor with fine cigars, plus accessories from companies like Xicar Swiss Army. They also carry select sports memorabilia. Definitely worth popping in if you have a cigar lover on your gift list this year.
Be Yourself Paperweight
I found this item on one of my favorite websites for gifts, Uncommon Goods. By the name, you can guess that they carry items that are very unique. The items I have personally ordered have also been high quality. I like this paperweight because I loved the quote, but I also thought it was a great gift for someone who already seems to have everything, or even someone you may not know that well. If you chose your new brother-in-law in your name trade this year, this might be a safe gift. It is priced at $36. I also thought this was a perfect gift for a man who may be starting a new job or heading off to college.
Tools from Ace Hardware
We love our local Ace stores, and two of them have some great deals going on for the holiday season. Stop by North Greensboro Ace Hardware or Cloverdale Ace Hardware in Winston-Salem for some great deals on five different DeWalt bit sets and Saw Blades all for $9.99 each (reg $19.99). They also have six different Stanley Tools and Accessories with a mail in rebate that will end up costing only $1.99 each!! Great gifts for stocking stuffers, too. You will not run out of great ideas at these stores, as you can always find plenty of Craftsman products, outdoor items, lighting, holiday decor, grills & accessories and home improvement items.
A Gift Certificate to Shane’s Sporting Clays
I thought this would be a unique experience for your gift recipient to experience with a group of friends, a day to himself, or even as a fun date idea. Shane’s is a small locally owned Sporting Clays range located in Summerfield. After operating for 26 years, it is the oldest sporting clays range in the state. Shooters move at their own pace as they move through the stations. Shane’s welcomes beginner shooters and even offers instruction for an additional fee. You can plan on spending an average of $51 for your first time out (depending on how much you shoot). Gift certificates are sold in ANY amount needed and can be mailed directly to your recipient. You can see pricing and other details on the website above!
