Yes, we did have some snow last week, and it seems crazy to be talking about summer swim clubs! But the fact of the matter is that I have already had a handful of people contact me asking about pool options for the summer. Today we are featuring a neighborhood pool that will certainly be appealing to our Winston-Salem readers. The best news is that they are currently running a special for new members AND you have the chance today to win some free guest passes!
My husband actually grew up in Winston-Salem and was a member of Peace Haven pool for many years. His memories of the swim team and friendships he made are immeasurable. The best news – you do not need to live in the surrounding neighborhoods to join!
Kathleen Kirk moved to Winston-Salem four years ago and says that at that time she did not know a soul. Here is her story about what Peace Haven pool has meant to her:
“When we moved to town, I had four and six year old boys that didn’t care if I had boxes to unpack and a new city to learn. They wanted to get out and meet some new friends, and I just wanted them to stop climbing my walls! One of our neighbors recommended Peace Haven Pool and it was my saving grace our first summer. We met so many great families who became some of our closest friends.
The boys joined the swim team and learned how to swim. They met a ton of new friends and learned how to swim a full lap so they could go off the diving board. Sure I would hold my breath watching them jump off, but the look of pride when they swam to the edge was priceless.
That was four years ago. Now, I am a member of the pool board and have enjoyed working with others to keep our pool going strong. Not only do we have the only shaded pool in town, we offer two
tennis courts, swim team, swim lessons, tennis lessons, a playground and a picnic shelter. I cannot say enough about what joining this pool has meant to me, and we hope others can enjoy the same experience.”
This year, Peace Haven Pool and Tennis is offering new members a reduced one time joining fee of $500 (this is $300 off the regular joining fee). You must also pay the $495 annual dues which makes the first year $995. This is definitely worth taking advantage of and securing a
