gsoymcaIt’s Time To Hit the Court!

While we may be in the heart of football season it’s not too early to start thinking about shooting some hoops on the Basketball court. Teams are forming now at Greensboro area YMCAs and practices will start in November. Cheerleading is also available at the Bryan, Hayes-Taylor & Reidsville YMCA locations.  At the YMCA, Youth Sports programs promote healthy kids, families and communities because when kids play sports they build confidence, discover their personal best, and have fun as part of a team.  The YMCA offers sports programs year-round for boys and girls aged 3-18.  Visit the Bryan, Spears, Ragsdale, Reidsville or new Hayes-Taylor YMCA locations or visit YMCAGreensboro.org for more information and get ready to hit the court!  The sign-up deadline is October 26th for ages 3-10 and Nov. 27th for those 11 & up.

Decisions, decisions. As parents, we make decisions all day long. These decisions may be big and small, life-changing or irrelevant, and often as easy as yes or no. When deciding on the education for your children, this is an important choice that will impact your child’s future. How does one even begin to decide what type of educational environment will provide the best learning experience for their child? Greensboro Day School has developed a document, 26 Questions to Help Evaluate a School for your Child, in order to make the process easier. Some questions include: How are students supported academically? What is the student/teacher ratio? How are the arts represented? Is there a cafeteria at the school? To download this document, visit greensboroday.org/forparents and also consider visiting an Open House at Greensboro Day School. For a list of dates and times, go to greensboroday.org/visit.
