I’ve always loved musicals – from the days I performed in them myself to watching and studying them in a musicals course in college. They are so fun and, of course, the music is always outstanding. So, it should come as no surprise that I love ‘The Sound of Music’. Julie Andrews is fantastic as always.
Another thing I love is Christmas. Therefore, as a writer I thought it would be a fun challenge to combine those two loves and create My Favorite Things: Christmas Edition. This certainly proved to be fun and challenging, and I think I realized in the long run I should stick to writing blogs, webpages, and novels. Songwriting might not be for me!
Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this festive variation of a timeless classic!
My Favorite Things: Christmas Edition
Glitter on cards and tinsel on trees
Bright twinkling lights and warm sugar cookies
Beautifully wrapped gifts tied up with strings
These are some of my favorite Christmas things
Movies on TV and children on break
Santa’s jolly laugh and yummy fruit cake
Turtle doves that fly so gracefully with their wings
These are some of my favorite Christmas things
Kids in holiday dresses with colorful satin sashes
Tearproof mascara that stays on my lashes
All the great feelings holiday cheer brings
These are some of my favorite Christmas things
When the baby cries
When the alarm dings
When I’m feeling tired
I simple remember Christmas is here
And then I do feel very inspired
