We were in the van on the way to Clemson with all three of my kids and my in-laws. We were talking about who we were going to see at the game and I told the kids that we were going to see their Uncle Chris and Aunt Jennifer.

I said, “I wonder how big Aunt Jennifer’s belly is?” and I reminded them that she is going to have a baby in March. I said “And next week, they are going to find out if it is a boy or a girl.”

Adam: “They don’t know if it is a boy or a girl yet?”
Me: “No, the doctor will take something like an x-ray of Jennifer’s stomach and they’ll be able to see what it is”.
Adam: (looking confused) “So why don’t they know yet?”
Me: “They don’t go back to the doctor until next week…”
Adam: “But why don’t they already know if it is a boy or a girl since they (Chris & Jennifer) are the ones who put it in her belly?”

I guess the talk about the birds and the bees (simplified version) is going to happen in the near future…I am not ready for it!!
