Providence: A Christian Montessori Community
When you walk into Providence, the first thing that catches your attention is the incredible peace you feel. It is hard to imagine that under its roof over 70 students are busy learning with a freedom and independence that motivates and inspires each learner.
Providence: A Christian Montessori Community is the only Montessori school in Alamance county offering programming for those 2 years old through 9th grade. The school is a non-profit run by Denise Marti for the past 14 years with a well-trained and long-standing staff. This community offers extremely cost-effective full and half-day care and is there for working families from 7am to 5:45pm.
Plans are being made to build on their 40-acre plot of land for an incredible holistic learning experience. We challenge you to check out this true hidden treasure and experience the joy of being in a full Montessori program that operates with a Christian worldview. Visit the website here, or visit the facility at 1935 Hanford Rd, Burlington, NC.
The Y is Ready to make this Your Best Summer Ever
You know how it goes…once the school year makes it past Spring Break, the end of the year comes in a FLASH. What will the kids do this summer? Look no further. The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina offers a long, varied list of camping options suited to fit every age, schedule and interest. From traditional day camps to specialty camps that focus on everything from Soccer to Legos, Cooking to Art, Basketball to Dance, there is truly something for every kid. Summer Exploration camps are available for elementary-aged children, while Preschool Camp and Teen Exploration options are available as well.
Also during summer camps through the Y, time will be spent each day reading as well as focusing on character development, STEM education, and, for teens, college and career prep. Personal development is the foundation of every camp offered through the Y. For more information about Summer at the Y including locations, schedules and fees, please visit ykidscamp.org.
Community Groups for Parents
We recently updated our “Parent Groups” Directory. We hope this list can help you find groups where it is easy for you to meet other women (and usually children) with whom you can build friendships and support. We have listed play groups that include both the mom and child (music, activities, library story times, etc), and also groups that focus on the mom, but may still include children at the meetings (MOPS, church groups, exercise groups, etc). And don’t worry DADS, we’ve got some choices for you, too! You can find this directory at any time by clicking on “Directories” on our home page, or bookmark this link!
Today’s spotlight is sponsored by Spare Time Greensboro, BohoBlu, Madalyn Yates Photography, the YMCA of Northwest NC, and Providence Montessori.
