As parents, most of us have struggled with their kid’s daily activities, driving from place to place to drop off and pick up. Combined with other things on the daily to-do-lists, this can be challenging. Northern Arts Studio in Northern Guilford County has changed all that. Northern Arts Studio brings together many of the area’s most sought after classes and combines them under one central location.

No longer do parents in northern Guilford and southern Rockingham counties have to drive all over town to let their children pursue their dreams of learning martial arts, dance, art and more. Northern Arts Studio has these classes together in one studio, conveniently located off Highway 150 near Northern Elementary, Middle and High Schools. Now you can save time, money, and your sanity! They have summer camps (for which they are currently enrolling), Mike Carr Karate and self-defense classes, Southeast School of Dance classes, Tumbling classes from Tumblebees, art instruction and more. There is something for everyone.

Northern Arts is more than just a place to learn self-defense, how to dance, attend summer camps and other events or how to paint and draw. Owner Jamie & Autumn Cummings started the business to help others in the area begin a regular routine of safe and healthy activities designed to keep both mind and body fit. Ask anyone who has spent years taking similar classes and they’ll tell you they feel better, have more confidence, and feel like a part of a family!

They’re also registering online NOW for summer camps and fall classes! Visit www.mikecarrkarate.com or www.northernartsstudio.com to register! Use coupon code BLOG20 and receive $20.00 off any of their listed summer camps!!

Mike Carr Karate
Mike Carr taught self-defense, karate and more in the Triad for over 20 years. In 2015, Mike, who was planning to retire, decided to transfer ownership of his classes to a qualified organization that would continue his four cornerstones of respect, bravery, honor, and health. He found martial arts teacher Jamie Cummings at Northern Arts Studio and decided him and his wife were the perfect match. One of their many successful programs includes their Noble Ninjas program, designed specifically for children with special needs. Jamie started this program after meeting a wonderful young lady named Sarah who was so enthusiastic about Karate and life in general that he wanted to do something for her. The Noble Ninja program is designed to help children that have a disability that may prevent them from being in a regular class setting. We know Mike would be proud of this program! Mike Carr recently passed away after an extended illness, but his proud legacy and honor continues through his namesake classes at Northern Arts Studio. Today, under the direction of Jamie and Northern Arts Studio, Mike Carr Karate classes are held in various locations, including Summerfield, Forest Oaks and more.

Southeast School of Dance
Instructor Katherine Sarvis and the Southeast School of Dance is Northern Arts Studio’s official “dance partner.” Katherine, who earned her BA in dance from UNCG   studying technique, choreography, improvisation, and dance history, places a strong emphasis on encouraging students to nurture their own unique artistic talents. Students learn the importance of discipline, respect, dedication and teamwork which will help them navigate through life. They also get a strong workout and improve their flexibility and balance. Katherine and Southeast School of Dance share Northern Art’s passion for teaching and bringing out the best in each child, at their own pace, without pressure or negativity.

Tumblebees Ultimate Gym
Tumblebees kids gymnastics programs promote fun, fitness and fundamentals through a variety of progressive and challenging experiences. We offer gymnastics for kids from ages 4 years – 12 years.
