Katie moved to the Triad nearly ten years ago (en route from Charlotte,en route from Ohio University, en route from a childhood in New Jersey), and she and her husband, Charlie, say every day how lucky they are to have landed here. Launching this web site was a natural next step for Katie after introducing and co-managing a popular mom/parenting blog in the Triad for two years. Prior to that, she worked as a freelance writer and project manager part-time while raising her daughter, Emily, and son, Henry. And before her life as a stay-at-home mom, she was busy building a career in the fast-paced world of both agency and corporate public relations. In her position as co-founder of Triad Moms On Main, you still find Katie blogging as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the site along with Rachel.

Rachel is an Appalachian State graduate who started her career as an elementary school teacher directly after graduation. Rachel taught in the Mecklenburg and Forsyth school systems for eight years, and then decided to change her career to a stay-at-home mom after she had her first child. Rachel and her husband Kevin have lived in the Triad for 18 years and have two teenagers, Jake and Anna. Rachel is an active volunteer in her church, her children’s schools, as well as the community. Rachel felt like TMoM was a perfect fit for her, as she was able to combine and use all of her talents in sales experience, love of children, managerial skills, social marketing, love of organization, and her knowledge of the Triad.

Laura is a recent transplant to the Triad, and she and her husband, James, hope they never have to leave. A Cincinnati resident for over fourteen years, Laura worked as an English teacher at the middle, high school, and college levels before leaving education to work as a freelance writer. She homeschools her two oldest children, ages five and seven, while her two-year-old plays the class clown. In her spare time, which really doesn’t exist, she surprised herself by becoming an avid runner and just completed her second half-marathon. She loves to read, quilt, cook food her kids refuse to eat, and explore the beautiful mountains and beaches NC has to offer. She found Triad Moms on Main while her family was preparing to move to the Triad, and she’s thrilled to be a regular part of the blogging team.
Anna and her husband, Kevin, moved to Winston-Salem from Atlanta nearly nine years ago for what they thought would be a two-year stint (he went to business school at Wake Forest), and they’re thrilled they never left. They love the strong, close-knit community here, and find it to be the perfect place to raise their toddler, Maggie. In addition to blogging for TMoM and doing other freelance writing, Anna has her own blog, curiouser & curiouser, where she writes about topics ranging from health and wellness to pregnancy and parenting to fashion and baking — and lots more! She’s also a Pure Barre teacher and a Beautycounter consultant, loves spending time with her family, catching up with friends over lunch, reading (though time for that is rare these days!), and organizing the refrigerator — especially on days when everything else seems out of control (it’s so very cathartic!).
JamillahNeeairah Nasir (Mama J) is a writer, a retired birth worker, and the mother to four grown children. She’s the owner of Woman’s Work Consulting Group and Sweet Mama Jai’s Kitchen—A local specialty catering outfit. She writes about tourism and travel, food and nutrition, aging, the joys of menopause, and the dangerous terrain known as parenting adult children. She hopes to fulfill her dream of hoboing across the country while her ankles are still strong. She is also a founding member of the Greensboro Kwanzaa Collective, a cultural education organization in Greensboro, North Carolina. You can follow her latest and future shenanigans on Facebook and Twitter @RealWomansWork.

She has lived most of her life in and around Winston-Salem, and loves calling the Triad home. Kelly loves to overcommit, volunteer for things she’ll later regret, cook, sit on her porch and drink, hang out with her husband, and watch soccer. She has strong opinions, especially about things she doesn’t know all that much about. She’ll eat just about anything except green olives, which are disgusting. Her motto is, “Eh, I’ll wing it.”

She and her husband, Ricky are the proud parents of triplets, Abby, Andrew, and Adam, who are in high school.
