Kids tend to love treats and desserts (I’m with them!), and they can be tough critics. (You’re probably not going to get away with making fruit on its own a dessert most of the time.) But we have good news: If you’re looking for healthier dessert options your kids will still love, you’ve come to the right place.

These recipes all meet the important kid-approved dessert criteria of being delicious, sweet, and FUN.

Here are five of our faves:

Strawberry Sundae Bites

We love that this dessert option incorporates fruit (in a way kids will love), and it also keeps the portion size small without compromising the fun factor. Bonus: They take all of five minutes to prep, and your kids can help!

Vegan Guten-Free Black Bean Brownies

If you have picky eaters, don’t tell your kids there are beans in these and they will NEVER know. (Or do tell them if they love black beans, like my 3-year-old does! She loves to help me make these.) We love topping them with rainbow sprinkles to make them extra kid appropriate. Then again, we top as many things as possible with sprinkles at our house, including peanut butter on toast. Healthy No-Cook Peanut Butter Fudge

Creamy, smooth, peanut buttery…and packed with chickpeas, too! This fudge is free of refined sugar, and your peanut butter-loving children are guaranteed to deem it a new favorite. With this one, you can make a single or double batch and keep it in the freezer to enjoy slowly!

FroYo Bites

With summer on the horizon, this dessert has my attention for sure! I love that it includes just yogurt and fruit, and that it’s bite sized, which is the perfect way for kiddos to enjoy something sweet without the serving size being insane.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you have a few extra ripe bananas around, this recipe is the perfect one for you to try! It includes all the fun of a chocolate chip cookie, but without the refined sugar most contain. Oh, and these are also lunchbox friendly, which earns them extra points.
