Today we were supposed to upload a light-hearted blog written by Rachel, but it just did not seem right. Nor does it seem acceptable to run a blog written by anyone else today. For those of you who have not heard, Rachel is saying her final goodbye to her father today. This, just three short months after she said goodbye to her mother.
Sometime during the night of Tuesday, November 15, Rachel’s father passed peacefully away. The medical examiner report showed he had a blockage in his heart. But Rachel – and all of her friends and family – truly believe he died from a broken heart after losing his wife.
Even in this most difficult time, Rachel has been able to find some comfort. She wrote, “Our hearts are broken here on Earth, but my parents are reunited and smiling in Heaven.”
Out of respect for Rachel, her dad, and Rachel’s family – all of us at Triad Moms on Main – would like to observe a moment of silence on our sites and Facebook pages today. You are welcome to share a prayer for her and her family.
