When summertime comes around, you probably think about beach days, hikes with the children, and visiting extended family. But, there is plenty you can do in the Triad without having to make a long trip!

Head over to downtown Greensboro for local family fun at the place for play! Check out the four ways you can enjoy your summer at the Miriam P. Brenner Children’s Museum!

  • Host a field trip at MBCM, through your child’s daycare or youth group!

Although school is out, field trips are still available! The Museum’s three-hour Discovery Visit allows visitors in a group of at least 10 to play throughout the 20+ indoor and outdoor exhibits at their own pace. Any group is welcome, from daycares to youth groups. Play is necessary for the summer; it’s all about finding the right outlet!

  • Enjoy a themed summer camp at MBCM!

MBCM summer camps – one of the most beloved times of the year for staff and visitors – start in June and end in August. All season long, the Museum offers themed day camps ranging from science and art to gardening and cooking. All camps are curated by experienced MBCM educators that take months to brainstorm and bring the excitement to reality for young campers.

With how much they are anticipated, summer camps are almost completely sold out this year, but make sure to register for the waitlist in case there is a chance to join! Keep the fun in mind next January when sales begin.

  • Celebrate the Museum’s 25th birthday throughout July!

This year marks the Museum’s 25th anniversary as the place for play in downtown Greensboro! MBCM is celebrating this achievement in 25 different ways! Join us between July 1-July 25, as we have special guests at the Museum, giveaways, birthday-themed activities, a ‘90s-themed adult night, and so much more!

As a special bonus, MBCM is offering a discount for anyone scheduling their child’s birthday party in the month of July! At check out, use the promo code 25JUL to receive 25 percent off. Schedule your birthday party here!

In the next few months, check the Museum’s website for a detailed list of celebrations!

  • Make a regular family trip to the Museum!

Even if you can’t participate in these ways at MBCM, a family visit to the Museum is always a great way to mesh playtime and learning together!

Admission is $12 a person, and free for children under 12 months old. The Museum offers multiple discounts to take advantage of the fun for less, including a weekly $5 Friday admission from 5p-8p! Check out all their discounts at the Museum’s website!
