Myrtle Beach is home to hundreds of events each year and many keep visitors coming back time and time again. These events are geared around golfers (we do have 75+ courses along the Grand Strand), music lovers, runners, and even bikers! We’ve highlighted the top five annual events in Myrtle Beach that we just love.

Carolina Country Music Fest

The Carolina Country Music Fest is an held in early June and starts off with a kick-off concert the Thursday night before the weekend, followed by three full days of non-stop country music. Concerts are held on two different stages at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place along the scenic Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Around 30,000 music fans gather for this weekend event which has seen performances from Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Jake Owen, Maren Morris, Luke Bryan and so many other huge names. Myrtle Beach World Amateur Golf Tournament

The Myrtle Beach World Am is one of the top amateur tournaments in the country and is played at more than 50 local golf courses with more than 3,200 golfers competing each year. The tournament is broken down into several divisions including gender, age, and handicap to compete for a payout for the top five in each flight. They also give away more than $30,000 in prizes! Perhaps the most popular part of the World Am is the “World’s Largest 19th Hole” held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center with restaurants, celebrity sightings, live entertainment, visitors and so much more. The event is typically held the last week in August. Learn more about the Myrtle Beach World Am.

Myrtle Beach Marathon

Runners hit the pavement on our “fast and flat” Myrtle Beach Marathon course each year. It’s a popular race in town as it’s a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. Visitors and locals hit the road in March each year for a full marathon, half marathon, 5K, and even a virtual 10K. The course starts and ends at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Stadium and winds you through popular areas of the beach including Ocean Boulevard and The Market Common. We’re hoping one day that they’ll bring back the Runners Expo where you can shop for gear, grab a drink and enjoy the camaraderie of the runners in each race. Monday After the Masters Golf Tournament

Created by Hootie and the Blowfish, Monday After the Masters started out as a small event to raise money for charity in 1994. Since then, it has grown into one of the most anticipated annual events in Myrtle Beach. The weekend-long event features a Pro-Am tournament at the Barefoot Golf Courses located in North Myrtle Beach with celebrities, locals, and visiting golfers who get the special VIP treatment. There are dinners, breakfasts, after parties, and of course, a concert at House of Blues by Hootie and the Blowfish. The event draws quite the crowds – up to 6,000 people. Atlantic Beach Bikefest

Each Memorial Day Weekend nearly 350,000 bikers flock to Atlantic Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Myrtle Beach for Atlantic Beach Bikefest also known as Black Bike Week. There are parties, group rides, food vendors and good times had by all throughout the long weekend. Even if you’re not in the area for the event it’s fun to go downtown to check out the custom motorcycles and gear adorned by participants. If you’re coming for Atlantic Beach Bikefest there are plenty of biker-friendly hotels along the Grand Strand. Learn more about Atlantic Beach Bikefest.
