Best Shopping Centers in the Triad: Your Ultimate Guide for Retail Therapy

If you love to shop, why limit yourself to just one mall or shopping center near you? The Triad area is filled with fantastic shopping destinations, each offering unique stores, dining, and experiences. Whether you live in Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem, or nearby, these top shopping centers are worth a visit. Most are within about 30 minutes of each other, making it easy to plan multiple trips without the hassle of long drives. Ladies, get these shopping spots on your calendar—you won’t be disappointed!

Friendly Center: Premier Shopping Destination in Greensboro

In Greensboro, Friendly Center stands out as the top shopping center for locals and visitors alike. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on a treasure trove of stores and eateries. Some of my favorite shops include:

  • Crazy 8 (kids clothing)
  • The Extra Ingredient (kitchen gadgets and supplies)
  • Simply Meg’s (women’s boutique)
  • Swoozie’s (gifts and stationery)
  • REI (outdoor gear)
  • J Crew, Ann Taylor, and DSW Shoe Warehouse (perfect for shoe lovers!)
  • Toys N Co (great for families with kids)

Dining at Friendly Center

You can’t leave Friendly Center without eating at PF Chang’s. Their Chicken Lettuce Wraps are a must-try appetizer, and favorites like Chang’s Spicy Chicken and Dan Dan Noodles keep me coming back. For lunch, Bear Rock is a delicious choice, and there’s also Chick-fil-A for quick bites during your shopping spree.

Palladium Commons: High Point’s Shopping and Entertainment Hub

High Point’s Palladium Commons is not just about shopping — it’s a full day experience with dining, ice cream, and even a movie theater.

Sweet Treats Galore

Indulge in three ice cream stops: Bruster’s, Ben and Jerry’s, and Feeny’s Frozen Yogurt Bar, where you can customize your yogurt with unlimited toppings.

Dining Options at Palladium Commons

Choose from Moe’s Southwest Grill, McAlister’s Deli, Mad About Greek, Cici’s Pizza, Chick-fil-A, J & S Cafeteria, Alex’s Cheesecakes, and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Unique Shopping Finds

  • Poshh Boutique: fun and flirty women’s fashion
  • Hang Ups: more than framing, with accessories and gifts like Life Is Good, Pandora, and Vera Bradley

Winston-Salem’s Favorite: Thruway Center and Reynolda Village

While Reynolda Village is charming, Thruway Center wins for variety and convenience.

Must-Visit Stores at Thruway

  • The Painted Frog (unique women’s clothing and gifts)
  • Francesca’s (trendy women’s apparel)
  • New Balance (quality footwear for all ages)
  • The Jewel Box, Ann Taylor Loft, and Simply Sterling (jewelry and more)

For lunch, The Carving Board is a favorite spot among adults. Other tasty options include Moe’s, Chick-fil-A, The Juice Shop, Bonefish Grill, Fox and Hound, The Loop Pizza Grill, Dewey’s Bakery, and Jimmy John’s sandwich shop right across the street.

Alamance Crossing: Burlington’s Shopping and Dining Hotspot

Although a bit further out (about 45 minutes from Winston-Salem), Alamance Crossing is a convenient stop off I-40, perfect for travelers en route to Raleigh or exploring the Triad.

Top Stores to Visit

  • Peaches N Cream (children’s clothing)
  • The Children’s Place
  • Hobby Lobby
