Designed for curious minds of all ages, this immersive STEAM experience—developed in collaboration with the Omaha Children’s Museum and NASA—invites future astronauts, engineers, and dreamers to explore what it really takes to live, work, and travel in deep space.

Through six dynamic zones, kids can build rockets, test a lunar rover, experience low-gravity movement, and even design a moon base. They’ll take the controls of the Orion spacecraft, learn about space travel at the Space Academy Kiosk, and experiment with rocket launches—all through hands-on, play-based learning.

The new Kaleideum museum in downtown Winston-Salem is a state-of-the-art facility that opened its doors in early 2024. Spanning five stories and nearly 70,000 square feet, the museum offers a plethora of exhibits designed to inspire and educate. It’s a culmination of years of planning and community support, bringing together the best of both Kaleideum Downtown and Kaleideum North

Kaleideum’s mission is to inspire wonder, curiosity, and lifelong learning in our children and community through interactive play and discovery. This mission is realized through exhibits and programs that integrate literacy, the arts, and STEM education, fostering a holistic learning environment.

As of January 1, 2018, Kaleideum has joined Museums for All, a signature access program of the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) that encourages families of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum habits. The program enables families to visit Kaleideum for a minimal fee of $3 per person upon presentation of an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.

Through Museums for All, Kaleideum is partnering with museums across the country to make sure everyone can experience the best museums have to offer — all for the lowest and most-affordable prices ever. Visitors simply show their EBT card at the Welcome Desk when they arrive to receive Kaleideum’s lowest-priced admission.
